Mixte is an advanced software application for the analysis and design according το Eurocode 4 of composite road and railway bridges. It is distributed to the European market since 1997 (initial version had French design code) and has been used for the design of hundreds of road and rail bridges.
Mixte allows the analysis and design of composite twin-beam type bridges with multiple spans. A linear beam model is constructed and the traffic loads are automatically determined according to Eurocode regulations. The internal forces and stresses are then calculated and all the necessary checks are performed. The calculations report are automatically generated.
Mixte was initially developed by CCS and CTICM (Centre Technique Industrielle de la Construction Metallique) and has incorporated a broad area of expertise in composite bridges. Mixte is being used in organizations such as the design department of the French railways (SNCF), the French steel institute (CTICM), steel fabricators such as Eiffel Construction Métallique and important contractors such as Baudin Chateauneuf.
